5. Known-defects disclosure (seller) protective core

The seller lists every defect, damage, mechanical problem, warning light, or prior accident the seller knows about. If none, write "NONE KNOWN". This protects the buyer against concealment and protects the seller by proving what was disclosed.

Federal law (49 U.S.C. 32705) and state law, where applicable, require the seller to state the mileage upon transfer of ownership. Failure to complete this statement, or providing a false statement, may result in fines and/or imprisonment. The seller states that the odometer now reads:
